Proper cleaning and preparation is the MOST important step. Walls needs a variety of treatments from a light pressure wash to soapy water and a wire brush.
Once the surface is cleaned and repaired the next step is to prime the wall. Priming will create a even surface and help the paint stick to the wall

Now you need to protect the wall to ensure that it stays vibrant and beautiful for a long time to come. The final step to finishing your painted wall mural is to seal it.
A good varnish will not make up for a poor substrate, but if the preparation is solid, the varnish will protect the final skin of the painted mural. Another advantage of the acrylic varnish is that you can remove it without damaging the mural underneath.
